According to RNC’s resolution passed this Friday, there is no provision for citizenship for the 11 million undocumented neither is there a provision for DREAMers to become citizens of the country despite them serving in the military or graduating from our schools.
However, the resolution recommends a system where work permit will be issued to the 11 million undocumented which can be renewed every two years while the special legal status granted to DREAMers under the resolution would demand them to renew their work permits every five years.
In addition, the resolution called for increased border security with the completion of the border fence around the US Mexico border and stricter military patrols and law enforcement along with the implementation of E-verify system for employers.
